Relay For Life

I did about 50 cards this week for the Northwest Hospital's Relay for Life. It was fun putting them together. This is their last fund raiser for the year, so I'm going to have to think about something else. Maybe Christmas cards?? I'll be ready when the time comes anyway.

Here are some of the cards I did for Relay. the date on the pictures are wrong as you may have noticed. I didn't realize that Dave had set the date stamp on them and when I changed the battery it changed the date to default.
I think that the round one I am going to do for Christmas. I know that i will be getting new Christmas stamps so I will just do some basic backgrounds then add the stamps later. I am going to do more production line ones this year instead of having 44 different styles like previous years.
I love the funky flowers one (with the circles). It was a scraplift from the Cards Magazine. The one in the book had the flowers stamped with journaling lines, but I embossed and sanded them, think it was a lot cuter.
So, anyway, I think the relay went well. I didn't stay long as the people I know were not there and wouldn't be back for some time.

Springtime

I love the spring and the flowers. I don't know about mowing three times a week, but it looks pretty anyway. My fledgling plans are starting to grow nicely. I got a killer of a deal at Home Depot today. I went over there to get a gift card for my Kudo's Corner winner and found these huge hydrangea's, about three feet tall for only $3.33. Of course, I didn't have room for even one in my yard, and just couldn't justify buying more flowers for the park, but I still managed to get three of them. I planted one in the new bed that I started that I made this year... well, actually an extension of an old one. It's mostly just fabric and mulch covered lawn with pots sitting on it. I moved a red japanese maple over from the front of the house, and the rest is in pots, but now it has an hydrangea. Put another one in the bed next to the stairs and don't know where I'll put the other, but know I'll find just the right place for it. Here's a few of my flowers.

The last one is where I planted the hydrangea (this was taken before hydrangea). There was a small one just in front of the office, and another one where the white lilac is. I had taken out an ugly old bush and replaced it with the lilac, and also dug up some ugly shrub in front of the office. The little Japanese maple moved very well, you could never have known it was disturbed at all. It was sitting in front of a electrical transformer box and PUD told me that if they had to get in to the box they would just cut down the tree, so figured it had better be moved, and I think it's the best thing that's happened to it in a long while.
I have lots of pretty geraniums in the front that will be blooming soon. Another killer deal, but from Freddies - 33 cents each for the starts! They've well over trippled now in size. My petunias are getting bigger every day, and things are really filling in nicely. The entrance is starting to fill out with the blue lobelia, white petunia's and red snapdraggons. I lost a lot of the snaps before they were actually planted, but I saved a lot of money on that project this year by buying early and transplanting the little starts and fertilized until the weather was acceptable. Tomorow if it's not raining too hard I will go out and take some progress pics of it.

Oh my

I got carried away scrapping tonight and here it is 3:45 am. Okay, so I quit scrapping a while ago and then had to unwind. Then had to wait until the fire burned down some so I could relax.

Christmas is over. Walter had a good time opening his gifts.... with a little help from a friend.
Our weather stinks! It's been raining and cold and threatens to snow but then nothing happens. Since going to Florida I can hardly tolerate our rain. I think if it wasn't so dang wet in this park it wouldn't be half bad, but there are underground streams that run through here year round, so in the winter it just helps to raise the water table to unbelievable levels.
One really good thing is that the park is full now! No more vacancies! I even went out and took the sign down at the entrance. Now if I could just sell #25 everything would be great!

So, we move on....

It's been two months since I posted last, so figured I better get moving on now. Had a wonderful trip to Florida.... and yes I lost my 20 pounds before going, and then had to work for a couple a weeks to get to it again. But it was a wonderful trip and I will post some pics and stories of it later. For now I will start at today. Didn't feel like staying around here today so we were going to find a celebration in Mill Creek where they were trucking in some snow and there was suppose to be a street fair and all... well, we couldn't find it. So we came home checked out something else and headed for Tacoma for the Zoo Lights. It was very cold but it was nice. Okay, so one picture got posted twice... this was all we were able to get clearly. Dave tried to use the night option and they all came out blurry.

So we left there and decided it was too early to go home and decided to stop at the Bellevue Botanical Garden for their Garden d' Lights. We went there a couple years ago and it was just as beautiful as before. My favorite again this year is the "pond" with the giant water lily and swan. I love how the pictures show the ferns in the front, it almost makes the other seem real. I also really liked the blue daisies, they are new this year.

Change in my Blog

So, now I have a myctmh site, so I won't be posting as much artwork here. I guess I really wasn't suppose to be doing that anyway. I didn't know it when I began posting here, but some things came up with the corporation and they asked the consultants to use the myctmh site to promote their business instead of blogs. So, I will comply with the R&R's and be an obedient consultant. Actually, I'm really good to have a myctmh site, and I am working on getting it updated and ready to go, so if you go there, please know that it is still under construction. The address is www.mimimiller.myctmh.com , or at least I think that is right.

So, now that we are moving on.... I am on a Weight Watchers journey again. Six weeks and 12 pounds so far. Hoping for 20 pounds before we go to Florida. Funny thing is, twelve pounds and you don't even see it. But, I still feel good about it, it's a beginning.

God is so good and as always has everything in His control. I scheduled our trip for when Dave was off work, which was suppose to be the October 31st. Then I had to calculate in rent collection week, as I have to be here for that. That brought us up to November 10th. I have been thinking that the last week was going to be really hard with him being off work, not really able to look for anything else, not able to apply for unemployment, because he would be unavailable for that week because of being out of town. He found out this week that he has a one week extension! So that will bring us up to November 7th, and we'll only have three days to wait until we leave.

I finished it!

So I finally finished my cards for the Regional Swap on the 27th. They are in the cello envelopes, so that's why they look shiny. The rose is a two piece stamp. You do the outline and main color seperately. I used Cranberry and Ponderosa Pine ink for the outlinesm using second generation for the body. I stamped the outline on the same paper as the greeting and then mounted the flower with pop dots. Playful petals are also mounted with pop dots. Can you tell I like the flourish stamp?
I decided that I didn't like the 4x4 cards, so I mounted them on a larger card.
Had to do a couple "guy" cards.

For Regional Celebration

I am going to the CTMH Regional Celebration this month, and joined a swap that will take place there and these are some of the cards for it. Have eight to go.
