So, we move on....

It's been two months since I posted last, so figured I better get moving on now. Had a wonderful trip to Florida.... and yes I lost my 20 pounds before going, and then had to work for a couple a weeks to get to it again. But it was a wonderful trip and I will post some pics and stories of it later. For now I will start at today. Didn't feel like staying around here today so we were going to find a celebration in Mill Creek where they were trucking in some snow and there was suppose to be a street fair and all... well, we couldn't find it. So we came home checked out something else and headed for Tacoma for the Zoo Lights. It was very cold but it was nice. Okay, so one picture got posted twice... this was all we were able to get clearly. Dave tried to use the night option and they all came out blurry.

So we left there and decided it was too early to go home and decided to stop at the Bellevue Botanical Garden for their Garden d' Lights. We went there a couple years ago and it was just as beautiful as before. My favorite again this year is the "pond" with the giant water lily and swan. I love how the pictures show the ferns in the front, it almost makes the other seem real. I also really liked the blue daisies, they are new this year.

Change in my Blog

So, now I have a myctmh site, so I won't be posting as much artwork here. I guess I really wasn't suppose to be doing that anyway. I didn't know it when I began posting here, but some things came up with the corporation and they asked the consultants to use the myctmh site to promote their business instead of blogs. So, I will comply with the R&R's and be an obedient consultant. Actually, I'm really good to have a myctmh site, and I am working on getting it updated and ready to go, so if you go there, please know that it is still under construction. The address is www.mimimiller.myctmh.com , or at least I think that is right.

So, now that we are moving on.... I am on a Weight Watchers journey again. Six weeks and 12 pounds so far. Hoping for 20 pounds before we go to Florida. Funny thing is, twelve pounds and you don't even see it. But, I still feel good about it, it's a beginning.

God is so good and as always has everything in His control. I scheduled our trip for when Dave was off work, which was suppose to be the October 31st. Then I had to calculate in rent collection week, as I have to be here for that. That brought us up to November 10th. I have been thinking that the last week was going to be really hard with him being off work, not really able to look for anything else, not able to apply for unemployment, because he would be unavailable for that week because of being out of town. He found out this week that he has a one week extension! So that will bring us up to November 7th, and we'll only have three days to wait until we leave.

I finished it!

So I finally finished my cards for the Regional Swap on the 27th. They are in the cello envelopes, so that's why they look shiny. The rose is a two piece stamp. You do the outline and main color seperately. I used Cranberry and Ponderosa Pine ink for the outlinesm using second generation for the body. I stamped the outline on the same paper as the greeting and then mounted the flower with pop dots. Playful petals are also mounted with pop dots. Can you tell I like the flourish stamp?
I decided that I didn't like the 4x4 cards, so I mounted them on a larger card.
Had to do a couple "guy" cards.

For Regional Celebration

I am going to the CTMH Regional Celebration this month, and joined a swap that will take place there and these are some of the cards for it. Have eight to go.

Swap Spoiler if anyone is looking

I've been working on these for a couple days. I love doing 3x3's and these are for a swap. The first set is from the retiring Summer Celebrations B&T pack, second set is More to Adore. Stamps are: Playful Flourishes, From Me to You, Celebrate Life, Doddle Alpha, Free Spirit, and Delight in Everything.

I didn't have pink brads so I mixed reinker with white acrylic and painted, then put liquid glass on the top with prisma glitter. It looks much prettier irl, even if my scanning abilities leave something to be desired.

I don't know just what I am going to do with this yet. It is actually 12x12, but I just stuck it in the scanner so it looks smaller. The flourishes look better irl. They were stamped in honey and garnet, 1st and 2nd generation. The butterfly is stamped in garnet and I dabbed a paint brush in honey to do the center of the butterfly. Flowers are second generation hollyhock.

Big OOPS

Okay, so I forgot the picture!

New Product!

I finally got my first order, and of course wishing I would have ordered more! Guess that will have to wait. This is the new Everlasting Reflections II papers and stamp. I used 1st and 2nd generation Cranberry ink on the flower and Ponderosa Pine and Garden Green for the leaf. Flower is mounted with glue dos so it is three dimensional. I thought that the Garden Green actually went better with the paper than the Ponderosa.

New Creations

I've been wanting to try these door hanger boxes, and my friend Mary Crosby gave me a few packs of them last week. Thanks Mary! Papers are one of my favorites Floral Tapestry, stamps are the Free Spirit and For Every Occasions. I plan on doing several more to go in the box for a workshop, but got anxious to post them.

Oops

I meant to say in previous post that it was in CardMaker magazine.

Card

My one project for today was this cute little card. I saw it in an ad for their new idea book, but it said the design was by ctmh. The paper is "Stylin" and the stamp is Playful Flourish.

Clipboard

My third clipboard to the collection. Paper is Stylin' by CTMH

Finally back to the table

After a short rest... yeah right! I am back with ink in hand. The first one with the orchid flower is a random stamped sheet with Delight in Everything. I actually stamped five pages of it to cover the drawing box for the Kla Ha Ya Days booth. It rained all weekend, and loosened my adhesive, but I took advantage of that and removed it from the box and now using it for other purposes. I got the idea for the gift bag from my partner in Kla Ha Ya Days, Leslie Ann. The phrase stamp on the bag and the gift card is from Kindred Spirits.

Again... (how many times will I say this) I love the Floral Tapestry papers. Some cards that I made from it from the Card Confidence Program. Stamps are For Every Occasion and Simple Stitches.

Okay, so the placement is off with the pictures I think, but you get the idea.

Floral tapestry tags

Tags were cut on the Cricut, all papers and embellies are ctmh.

Simple Pleasures clipboard

The second clipboard, one to go. I used the simple stitches stamps, I really like them. I should have used black though because they don't show up too well. Actually they do show up better IRL though. No major faux pas on this one, maybe my next will be perfect.....yeah right! It was fun anway.

Floral Tapestry Clipboard

My first altered clipboard. The only reason I haven't done any before was because I didn't want to cut the paper around the clip, but by painting it I avoid that obstacle. I accidentally ran over my stamped image with the mod podge, but with a paper on it, it won't show anyway. It's slightly smudged.

Non ctmh fun

I made these for my granddaughters that moved to Florida. Not Close to My Heart, but the girls are close to MY heart!

Mini Shopping Bag Album

Okay, so I was suppose to have two projects to post today, but the candles I was stamping didn't turn out. But I do like the way this turned out. The bag was cut with cricut (love my cricut!), and the flowers are ctmh dimensional elements. Stamps are from ctmh Kindred Spirits, the June Constant Campaign. If you have a gathering with $350 sales (which really isn't that hard) you get this stamp set for free! There are many more stamps that go to this set other than what I show on this project. Papers are from the ctmh Summer Celebrations kit. Wowzers, that kit goes a long way! I have done a ton of stuff with it and still have a LOT left. Oh yes, the ribbon is from the Colonial White set, and I used liquid glass on the center to the flower

Tag Book

This little tag book is made from one 8.5" piece of cardstock and two pieces of mat board for the cover. The pink flowers are cut with my cricut and the white ones are Close to My Heart White Daisy Collection. All are dampened, scrunched together and dried to give them dimension.

Best wish with Adore

Another card with More to Adore papers. Also used my cricut to cut the flowers and slotted cylinder.

2nd display board

I finished the second display for the 9x9 workshops. I hope it is understandable. The left side is one workshop and the right side is another, each with three two-page layouts.

Display board

This was one of my completed projects for the weekend. I also did a couple 9x9 lo's that I will put on the second board that hopefully I can finish today. Oh yes, and I used my new Cricut to cut the title words.

A couple simple cards

I was in a quandry today as to what to do, so I just did a couple little cards.

The red one is Giggles and Grin and the other is Majestic Blue. Stamps are Spunky Greetings.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

These were really fun to make. I'm not used to using so few embellishments though. These are converted (to 9x9) Cherish layouts. Some of them are slightly different as you can't put as many pictures on it when you cut down on the size. This is parts of two different B&T Paper packs... Building Blocks and Giggles and Grins. The C and K letters are Rustic Alpha, other stamps are Playful Flourishes, and little flowers are from Adorable. It was tricky getting them photographed, so the picture isn't the best. These are older pictures of some of my grandchildren, and the Disney ones are my oldest daughter and her family. This will be another workshop I will offer.

6x6 mini album

Okay, so I didn't make this just today, but was going through my stuff and found it. I made the cover from matt board. I really had fun with this and basically made it from scraps left after making lots of stuff with this paper pack. Also used are the Delight in Everything stamps, Sassy strands, mini brads, Demensional Flowers both positives and negatives and White Daisy flower pack. All CTMh products... aren't they great?! I love the fact that everything is there, you don't have to start searching for what matches what. So Blessed stamp is from the Treasures of the Heart set. The pictures are arranged funny here because it would only let me upload a few at a time. So blessed is the front page, and I actually photographed the whole from the backside. I'm a little backwards myself anyway, so guess it's fitting.
