In Memory

Our precious Walter dog left us on December 3rd.  To say that he was Dave's constant companion was an understatement to say the least.  He loved it when we came to Auburn because it meant that Daddy was home all the time!  Except he got very confused when Daddy wasn't holding him the entire time, or when he was outside doing community duties.

Whether playing, sleeping eating, at the computer, you name it, Walter was beside him.

Before we came to Auburn and Dave had to work outside of the community, Walter would go in to his "happy dance" when Dave got home from work.  He ran around, rolled, jumped in the air.  It was the best time of his day for sure!

When we went on hikes Walter was right at his side in his carry pouch.  I even have one picture of them in Marysville with Dave doing the mowing on the rider with Walter in the bag.

When he was younger he loved his toys, but as he got older he was definately more attached to his blankies.  When we went on camping trips he had to have his own chair.  Dave bought him this bed and it was so huge huge, but it gave him the room to toss around and get the blanket "just so."

This soft black blankie now sits on Dave's chair.  The only thing that he wanted to keep that was Walter's. He has been with us in our homes in 5 different cities since Carla and David gave him to us when he was just a youngster.  He left us as a very old man, and has left a huge hole in our hearts, but has also left us with so much love.  I want to believe that God has made a special place for our furrie babies to wait for us until we come.

Your post made me cry. I only gained a furry friend a year ago when my brother -in-law passed away. That precious baby has become the best friend in my life. I am very sorry for your lost.
