I did this little card yesterday from my own template. I also did a template for a mini album with the same purse. I probably spent way too much time on it.

Distressed 6x6

This one has a lot of hardware on it, I've never done quite this much. It is a 6x6 and I wanted to demonstrate distressing with it. It is a friend and when I get the letters of the right size it will say "Emeterius" on the lower right side.

I like the little 6x6's for showing off small snapshots.

I've been hanging on to this picture for at least a year waiting for the right inspiration to finish it, and these papers are it! I wanted to try the paper ribbon technique also, and think it lent itself well to this layout. Papers and stamps are Close to My Heart. The simply ADORABLE girls are two of my granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Keeley, and they really do love each other this much!

Life Delights Card

Original design by Jamia Bankhead. I couldn't resist cardlifting this one. I have changed it out some from her original, but the cutouts are her design. This was quite time consuming, but fun. I normally don't like the white base to show on my cards, but this one I thought was outstanding in white.

The inks are ctmh, ocean, bubblegum and garden green. I didn't have the ocean button, so inked a blue one, then sprayed it with hairspray to hopefully make it so it won't rub off. The top layer on the colored flowers are stamped with the new ctmh white daisy on the backside of a transparency and cut out. If you haven't used this, it is a very thick pigment ink and takes a long time to dry, but well worth the time.

12x12 Workshops

Sample sets for Close to My Heart 6 page 12x12 layout workshop. I love love love the More to Adore (pink) papers. With their distress look, you don't have to do anything more to make them look beautiful. This was originally an 18 page workshop, but this is for people who have never scrapped before, and I didn't want it to take all night to put them together. I will have the kits all ready and all they have to do is put them together and put their pictures on them.

There is no such thing as a mistake

You can always find a way to make something different if it doesn't turn out just like you want. I have a hard time not over heating sparkly embossing powder. So when I did one of these little 3x3 cards, and tried to heat emboss the little flower it didn't turn out and showed the lines from the embossing ink. So I stamped another flower on white and cut it out and glued it over the palce. I like it better than the embossed look. Even though these are simple little cards, I love the fact that I have the freedom to do them anyway that strikes me, and it's not a "mistake."

Accordian mini album

I finally finished this 5x5 accordian album. It is from the CTMH B&T Let's Get Together paper pack. I have to say I got the best out of that pack. I have done a 6 page 12x12 workshop layout, several cards, a 6x6 layout and now this little album from it, and still have a few scraps left that I could make cards with. But as much as I love these papers, I think I'm tired of looking at them for a while. I would have liked to use some of the matching ribbons on this, but I don't have any yet. The cover is cut from photo matting board, and the pages are from one sheet of 12x12 white paper. I love the accordian book idea, but it sure seemed like there were a lot of pages to come with new layouts for. But I am happy with the way it turned out. I probably should have done a couple more journaling pages though.

The first layout is a 6x6 of one of my dear granddaughters - Allison when she was a baby. The paper is CTMH Let's Get Together. The second is a 9x9 of my precious grandson Kevin. The papers are CTMH winter Classics.

Hey, I'm Here!

Hey, I'm here! I finally have my own blog! Actually, I had one and lost it... I have a bad habit of loosing things. Today I lost a key to a house for sale that I thought was the only key, but thank heavens I found the original. Now I just hope I don't loose that one.

So, what do I do, and who am I? I'm a wife to David for 34 years this October; mother of three wonderful grown children; grandma to 10! 5 boys and 5 girls. After much prayer, I got one beautiful granddaughter in 1988. I wanted a granddaughter so badly. Then in 1989 I got my first grandson. What a delight he was, and is! Then came another boy, and another boy, another boy, and yet another boy. I was starting to get a little concerned that we were getting outnumbered here, even though they are all very precious to me. But I wanted more girls! Then my oldest daughter had a beautiful little girl, and my youngest followed with another precious girl. Aha! We're starting to catch up here. Then my oldest had another little girl, and the youngest followed with yet another beauty! Now, how could it be any better than to have five girls and five boys! The girls are all beautiful and delightful but the boys are very loving and sweet to their grandma.

I am a property manager and Close to My Heart independent consultant. I very much enjoy scrapbooking and making cards, gardening and taking pictures of my flowers. I also dabble in genealogy, having traced my family tree back to the 1500's.

I plan on posting some of my artwork here, along with some other things of interest. That is as soon as I figure out all the ins and outs of blogging.
